National Public Lands Day, 2003

National Public Lands Day, 2003, is scheduled for Saturday, September 20th. The overall theme for the event will be to protect and restore native habitats. This is in keeping with the 100th anniversary of the National Wildlife Refuge System and the fact that so many of our volunteer's work on habitat restoration projects. Toyota will, once again, be national corporate sponsor and nine federal resource agencies are sponsoring including: the Army Corps, BurRec, BLM, DOD, EPA, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, Park Service, and the TVA. Our 2003 goal is to exceed 80,000 volunteers donating some 400,000 hours (200 full-time work years) of hard work. We are shooting for more than 500 public land locations spread across all 50 states.
